Thursday, Oclober 3, 1996 2 The Gueydan Journal Obituaries 2 ir LeJeune, Mr, Lawrence (Loney) Hcbert, Mrs. Whitney (Marie) Trahan and Mrs, Camile (Lucy) Broussard. A native and lifelong resident of Kaplan, Mrs. Trahan was the daughter of the late Victor Trahan and Matildc Vincent. Pallbearers include her five sons, Perlis, Rittcr, Lyman, Leo and Marion Trahan and a grandson, Wade Trahan.

Vincent Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. I XV j'- VffX A 2rjv A For Rose You lit Eugene "Bruce" Broussard 1929-1996 Funeral services were held for Eugene "Bruce" Broussard, 66, at Vincent Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25. Father Alcidc Sonnier officiated at the services.

Mr. Broussard died at 8:35 a.m. September 24, at his home in rural Gueydan. Burial was in Gueydan Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, the former Madeline Simon of Gueydan; his father, Edward Broussard of Crowley; a son, Robert Dwayne Broussard of Gueydan; three daughters, Charlotte B.

Theriot of Kaplan, and Patricia Hcbert and Dana Brou both of Gueydan; a brother, Alphonsc Broussard of Alabama; two sisters, Gertie Cour-villc of Mariguan and Joyce Pond of Colorado; 12 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Mr. Broussard was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Eugene Broussard and his mother, Cloma Bcrtrand Broussard. Vincent Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs.

Opha (Lula) Trahan 1912-1996 Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 27, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kaplan for Mrs. Opha (Lula) Trahan, 84. Mrs. Trahan died at 7:30 a.m.

September 26, at her residence in Kaplan. Father William Blanda officiated at the services. Burial was in Kaplan Cemetery. Survivors include five sons, Perlis, Rilter, and Lyman Trahan, all of Kaplan, Leo Trahan of Lafayette and Dr. Marion Trahan of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Mrs.

Ulyssc (Edmay) Guidry and Mrs. Edia (Adlay) Simon, both of Gueydan; 13 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Opha F. Trahan; two brothers, Freddie and Eslay Trahan, and four sisters, Mr. Alex (Enita) Employee of the Month Mary Ann Smith, left, was recently designated Employee of the Month for Gueydan Memorial Guest Home for August She is married to L.C.

Smith and has been a lifelong resident of Gueydan. Her parents are Rosa Belle and Eddie Premcaux. She has no children of her own, however she views all of her nieces and nephews as her own. She has been employed at Gueydan Memorial Guest Home since 1992 where she started as a technician and is now Ward Clerk on the 2-10 shift Mary Ann's hobbies are volunteering, casino game playing and fishing. Presenting the plaque is Administrator Bob Hcnsgens.
